During the first cabinet meeting of his administration, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay reviewed a total of 436 projects and schemes, which include significant election promises made by the Tamil Nadu Vizhuthugal Katchi (TVK) party. The meeting, which took place at the secretariat, focused on streamlining governance and preparing for the Governor's upcoming Assembly address. Electricity Minister R Nirmalkumar reported that projects were distributed among ministers according to their respective departments. The discussions emphasized the government's commitment to creating a corruption-free and drug-free Tamil Nadu, while also addressing the needs of youth and women. Specifically, the industries department reviewed 37 projects, with instructions for ministers to collaborate with departmental officials to develop detailed reports aimed at achieving their targets. Additionally, the Tamil Nadu government expressed its intention to take legal measures against Karnataka's proposed Mekedatu project, reflecting its proactive stance on regional issues.
