The Thiruvananthapuram-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express is known for the longest non-stop train ride in India, covering 528 km between Kota, Rajasthan and Vadodara, Gujarat without a single halt. The train connects Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala all the way to Delhi, passing through six states. (File Photo) On one section of its route, it operates non-stop between Kota and Vadodara, making it one of the longest continuous non-stop railway runs in India. The train’s non-stop journey lasts for nearly 7 hours. (File Photo) Passengers are often surprised to learn that there are no station stops during this long stretch, a rarity in India where such uninterrupted runs are seldom seen. (File Photo) During its journey between Kerala and New Delhi, the Rajdhani passes through multiple states and, like other trains in its category, is given operational priority due to its high-speed service. This priority allows it to maintain faster average speeds over long distances. (File Photo) Running a train nonstop over long distances in India is no easy feat. Indian Railways must carefully coordinate traffic across multiple divisions, balancing passenger and freight movement while managing complex operational challenges. Because of these constraints, true non-stop services remain extremely rare. (File Photo) This unusual route has now caught social media’s attention, especially among travellers used to Indian Railways trains making frequent stops at small stations along the way, making the nonstop journey all the more striking.
