In Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, two robbery suspects, Zubair Ahmad (24) and Sameer Khan (23), were killed in a police encounter late Tuesday night after they allegedly opened fire on police officers. The duo was part of a gang that executed a ₹27 lakh (approximately $32,500 USD) cash van robbery on May 6. They reportedly held the driver at gunpoint before fleeing with the cash-filled van, which was later abandoned. Following the arrest of two other suspects, police received tips about the remaining gang members' whereabouts near Wave City. When police attempted to intercept them, the suspects fired multiple rounds, injuring a sub-inspector and two constables. The police retaliated, injuring Ahmad and Khan, who later succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. Investigations revealed that Ahmad had masterminded the robbery after being inspired by crime-related web series, and the gang had been tracking the cash van's movements since March.
