A Special Court of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Chandigarh has adjourned the corruption case against Harcharan Singh Bhullar, the suspended Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Punjab Police, and co-accused Kirshanu Sharda to May 11. The court, presided over by Judge Bhawna Jain, made it clear that no further delays would be permitted in the proceedings. This decision follows a plea from the CBI under the Prevention of Corruption Act, demanding a swift and continuous trial. The court has granted the defense a final opportunity to review documents provided by the prosecution on April 24. Additionally, Bhullar filed an application under Section 230 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) for access to investigation documents not used by the CBI, which the prosecution has responded to.
