Residents living near Dayal Farms on Dewa Road in Lucknow have raised serious concerns about illegal garbage dumping on land that was supposed to be designated for a gaushala. More than 500 locals allege that trucks associated with the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) have been dumping waste at the site during late-night hours, resulting in foul odors and unhygienic conditions. Abhay Narayan Singh, president of the Dayal Farms Welfare Association, expressed fears that the area could become another unauthorized dumping ground similar to Shivri. Residents are particularly worried about potential groundwater contamination, especially with the monsoon approaching, as well as health risks from attracting stray animals and disease-carrying insects. They have called for immediate intervention from local authorities and a thorough investigation into the dumping practices. LMC officials have acknowledged the issue, stating that a survey will be conducted to address residents' concerns and ensure no further waste is dumped at the site.
