Kashi Vishwanath Dham, a prominent temple complex located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India, is enhancing its security measures to ensure the safety of its visitors and devotees. The local authorities have announced plans to increase the height of the perimeter walls surrounding the temple. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen security arrangements, which will also include the installation of additional AI-enabled cameras to eliminate existing blind spots in the surveillance network. Currently, the temple complex is equipped with approximately 325 CCTV cameras, watchtowers, night-vision devices, and video wall systems. Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal, along with other security officials, conducted an inspection of the security arrangements and emphasized the need for operationalizing an alternative route near the Administrative Building to facilitate the orderly exit of shopkeepers and devotees. Furthermore, modern sliding gates will be installed at the Bhairav Gate to improve crowd control. The authorities are committed to maintaining round-the-clock surveillance at sensitive locations, deploying personnel for rooftop duties, and utilizing advanced technologies such as PTZ cameras, video analytics systems, and drones to ensure comprehensive monitoring of the entire Dham area.
