The Chintan Shivir, hosted by the Department of Youth Affairs at the Indian Institute of Management in Shillong, commenced with a focus on enhancing youth engagement through the MY Bharat initiative. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya highlighted the movement's growth, boasting 2.17 crore youth volunteers and a goal to extend its reach to every district and block in India. He emphasized the role of District Youth Officers and NSS Officers in fostering a robust youth development ecosystem and urged for substantial youth participation in an anti-drug campaign. Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Raksha Nikhil Khadse, underscored the importance of channeling the talent of Northeast youth and improving coordination with state governments. The Shivir aims to identify challenges and share best practices, with a focus on actionable ideas for effective implementation of youth-centric initiatives. Sessions included discussions on leadership development, digital engagement, and community mobilization, fostering cross-learning among participants from various states.
