In Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, police and Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) officials seized 16 quintals of fake paneer allegedly made using detergent and other harmful chemicals. The operation began after a truck was intercepted on the outskirts of the city while transporting the adulterated product to Amethi. Following this, joint teams conducted raids at a manufacturing unit in Sabalpur village, leading to its sealing and the arrest of three individuals, including the owner, Sushil Kumar. Authorities confiscated raw materials and chemicals valued at over ₹5 lakh (approximately $6,000 USD) used in the production of these spurious dairy products. Assistant Commissioner Deenanath Yadav noted that this crackdown is part of a broader initiative against fake milk products in the Agra, Aligarh, and Meerut divisions. Over the past year, 479 cases have been registered against dairy units, resulting in the prosecution of more than 347 individuals and the cancellation of licenses for 17 dairies. Yadav emphasized the importance of public awareness and timely reporting to combat food adulteration effectively.
