India is among the nations whose organizations have gained access to Anthropic's Claude Mythos Preview, an advanced AI model designed to enhance cybersecurity under the expanded Project Glasswing initiative. Currently, fewer than ten Indian entities, including both government and private organizations, are participating. The Project Glasswing initiative aims to secure vital software by enabling select organizations to identify vulnerabilities before they can be exploited. Initially, around 50 partner organizations were given access, collectively identifying over 10,000 high-severity security flaws. The program has recently expanded to include about 150 additional organizations across more than 15 countries, particularly those operating critical infrastructure such as power, healthcare, and communications. Anthropic has also expressed concerns regarding the rapid pace of AI development, advocating for a potential slowdown to ensure societal structures can keep pace with technological advances. The company warns that increasingly capable AI systems might soon be able to design their own successors, raising critical oversight issues.
