The Rampurhat Assembly Constituency, located in Birbhum district of South West Bengal, is preparing for the Phase 1 voting in the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections. The Election Commission of India has announced a diverse list of candidates, including Asish Banerjee from the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Dhruba Saha from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Vivekananda Sau from the Indian National Congress (INC). The constituency has a total of 2,52,530 voters, comprising 1,25,687 men and 1,26,842 women. Rampurhat is reserved for the General category, with 27.86% of its population belonging to the Scheduled Caste community and 14.08% to the Scheduled Tribe community. Voting is set for April 23, 2026, and the counting of votes will occur on May 4, 2026. In the previous 2021 elections, the TMC secured a majority, winning 215 of the 294 seats in the state assembly.
