On May 4, 2026, counting of votes for the Assembly elections in Ernakulam district, Kerala, India, will take place at three centers: Cochin University of Science and Technology in Kalamassery, Union Christian College in Aluva, and Mar Athanasius College in Kothamangalam. District Collector G. Priyanka, who also serves as the District Election Officer, confirmed that all arrangements for the counting process are complete. Strong rooms will be opened at 6:30 a.m. in the presence of candidates or their representatives, with counting commencing at 8 a.m. The counting will begin with postal ballots, followed by votes recorded in electronic voting machines (EVMs). Initial trends are expected by around 10 a.m. A total of 263 tables have been arranged for counting, with 196 dedicated to EVMs and 67 for postal ballots, ensuring a structured and supervised counting process.
