Ferrari has officially unveiled the Luce, its first electric vehicle, developed in collaboration with renowned designer Jony Ive and Marc Newson's LoveForm creative collective. The Luce is a four-door, five-seat vehicle that diverges from traditional Ferrari designs while incorporating familiar curves. Its striking exterior features retractable door handles and a unique taillight design that only appears when the vehicle is powered on. Performance-wise, the Luce is equipped with four electric motors, delivering a total of 1,035 horsepower and enabling acceleration from 0-100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. The vehicle is built on an 800-volt electric architecture and houses a 122-kWh battery, capable of charging at up to 350 kW. While Ferrari estimates a maximum range of 280 miles, the EPA has yet to provide an official rating. The Luce's interior design includes multiple screens while maintaining some traditional controls, setting it apart from competitors. Initial deliveries are expected in Fall 2023, with U.S. models anticipated by Spring 2027. Despite challenges in the electric supercar market, Ferrari remains committed to its EV strategy.
