On what was supposed to be their wedding day, Pooja Yadav, a 25-year-old LLM student, was injured in a road accident while returning to Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, from Khalilabad. Despite her serious injuries, her groom, Sunny Yadav, 29, chose to marry her in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital. The accident occurred when Pooja felt dizzy and fell off the motorcycle she was riding with her brother, resulting in severe injuries and excessive bleeding. Doctors admitted her to the ICU for urgent treatment. Around 1 am on Thursday, with the hospital's approval, Sunny and family members performed the wedding rituals inside the ICU, where a priest recited traditional mantras. The groom applied sindoor to Pooja's forehead, completing a key Hindu marriage ritual. Following the ceremony, Sunny returned to his village to continue with the remaining wedding customs, while Pooja's condition has since stabilized, bringing relief to both families amidst the challenging situation.
