The excitement surrounding the Dhurandhar franchise continues as both Netflix and JioHotstar announced the streaming of the uncut versions, Dhurandhar Raw & Undekha, starting May 22, 2023. This follows the film's successful theatrical release on December 5, 2022, and its arrival on Netflix on January 30, 2023. The sequel, titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge Raw & Undekha, is set to premiere on June 4 at 7 PM, with streaming available from June 5 on JioHotstar.
However, the franchise faces legal challenges. The Delhi High Court has been asked to investigate claims made by Deepak Kumar, a head constable with the Sashastra Seema Bal, alleging that Dhurandhar 2 discloses sensitive operational details about the armed forces, potentially threatening national security. The court has directed the Union government and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to address these concerns, emphasizing that while the film may be fictional, the implications raised by security personnel are serious.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the Dhurandhar films have achieved significant commercial success, establishing themselves as a major part of Indian cinema's landscape, with a cast that includes Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal.
