VD Satheesan, born on May 31, 1964, in Nettoor, Ernakulam district, is a prominent political figure in Kerala, serving as the Leader of the Opposition. He has represented the Paravur constituency in the Kerala Legislative Assembly since 2001, marking a 25-year tenure. Satheesan is committed to revitalizing the Indian National Congress in Kerala, where the party has been out of power for a decade. His educational journey includes a bachelor's degree from Sacred Heart College, a master's in Social Work from Rajagiri College, and law degrees from Kerala Law Academy and Government Law College in Thiruvananthapuram. Satheesan's political career began in student politics, and he has held various positions, including Chief Whip of Congress in the Kerala Assembly.
