On Saturday, DLF (Delhi Land & Finance), a prominent real estate company in India, began clearing construction debris in DLF Phase 1 and Phase 2, located in Gurgaon, Haryana. This action follows a five-day anti-encroachment enforcement drive by the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP), which targeted illegal structures in 17 residential colonies. DLF has deployed multiple teams to remove debris from internal roads and clear encroachments in coordination with DTCP. Nitya Mohan, head of facilities and security at DLF Utilities, stated that the clearance commenced from E Block in DLF Phase 1 and is ongoing. The focus is on removing encroachments and debris from public areas to restore safety and planned infrastructure usage. While the responsibility for debris clearance remains unclear between the municipal corporation and DTCP, DLF is taking proactive steps in the two colonies it manages. DTCP officials indicated that the anti-encroachment drive will continue in the coming weeks, with a monitoring mechanism to prevent future encroachments.
