In a significant enforcement action, Punjab Police launched a five-day operation to address the illegal use of hooters, sirens, and flashers on private vehicles. Directed by Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, the initiative aimed to uphold traffic regulations and prevent the misuse of emergency signaling devices. During the operation, police teams inspected 29,324 vehicles, issuing 4,221 challans for violations. They successfully removed 52 hooters, 10 sirens, and 403 flashers from unauthorized vehicles, while also impounding 48 vehicles. Special DGP Praveen Sinha emphasized that such devices are reserved for emergency services and warned that legal actions will be enforced against violators. Additionally, the ongoing 'Gangstran te Vaar' campaign has led to 34,532 arrests, highlighting the police's commitment to maintaining law and order in the state.
