The Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Board (Awas Vikas Parishad) has approved a budget of ₹4,173.65 crore for the financial year 2026-27 during its 275th meeting. The board has cleared land acquisition proposals worth over ₹4,500 crore in Varanasi and Mau, with a significant focus on housing and infrastructure development. A major allocation of ₹1,927.15 crore is designated for land acquisition, including ₹1,037.89 crore for projects in Ayodhya. Additionally, the board adopted the Private Business Park Scheme 2025 to encourage private investment in IT parks and commercial infrastructure, aiming to enhance business facilities in Lucknow. The board also approved the sale of nearly 7,000 unsold flats, which is expected to improve liquidity within the housing sector. Disciplinary actions were taken against two retired engineers for financial misconduct, resulting in pension cuts.
