Tech Mahindra Ltd, India's fifth-largest IT services company, reported a revenue increase of 1.9% year-on-year, totaling $6.39 billion for the fiscal year 2025-26, marking a recovery from two consecutive years of revenue decline. The company's net profit rose 7% to $537 million, driven by strong demand from the manufacturing sector, which contributed significantly to its revenue growth. Operating margins also saw improvement, rising 290 basis points to 12.6%, thanks to the company's ongoing Project Fortius aimed at enhancing profitability by eliminating low-margin accounts and optimizing costs. Despite the positive results, the company remains cautious about future growth amid geopolitical uncertainties and a fluctuating demand environment. Tech Mahindra's leadership emphasized a focus on higher-margin services and indicated a strategy shift towards small acquisitions rather than solely organic growth. The company also reported a reduction in its workforce, with a headcount of 147,623 employees, and plans to increase fresher hiring in the upcoming fiscal year.
