The 28th Indian Prosthodontic Society (IPS) National PG Convention was inaugurated by Higher Education Minister MC Sudhakar on Saturday at the KLE Centenary Convention Centre in Belagavi, Karnataka. The event gathered over 2,300 delegates from across India, focusing on the latest advancements and research in prosthodontics. Minister Sudhakar emphasized Karnataka's leadership in higher education, citing a 2025 NITI Aayog report that ranks the state ahead of others in this field. He noted the state's appeal is partly due to its high-quality private and deemed-to-be universities, which offer specialized courses and modern infrastructure. Dr. Prabhakar B Kore, Chancellor of KAHER, discussed the shift towards painless and high-precision treatments facilitated by technological advancements. The IPS, under the leadership of President Dr. V Anandkumar, aims to elevate the standards of prosthodontic practice throughout India.
