On April 26, Maulana Tauseef Raza, a cleric from Kishanganj district, Bihar, was fatally pushed from a train in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, during a dispute over a mobile phone. The Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested Pankaj Rajput, a Moradabad resident, after examining over 300 passengers and gathering video evidence from Home Guards Recruitment Exam candidates who recorded the incident. Raza, who was returning home from a religious event, had initially been deemed an accident victim until his wife provided a recording of his last conversation, prompting further investigation. Witnesses described how Rajput, allegedly intoxicated, confronted Raza over the phone, leading to a physical altercation. After being pushed from the train, Raza's body was discovered near the tracks. Rajput confessed to the crime during police interrogation, revealing his drunken state at the time of the incident.
