BUILD, a student-run nonprofit organization at Texas A&M University, has been making a significant impact globally since its establishment in 2013. The organization converts 40-foot shipping containers into portable Texas Aggie Medical Clinics (TAMCs) to provide healthcare in underserved areas. Recently, BUILD secured funding from MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson), a prominent YouTuber and philanthropist, to produce four new TAMCs. This partnership will enable the clinics to reach communities in Texas, Massachusetts, Kenya, Nigeria, and Ukraine, significantly improving healthcare access. Chris Permetti, BUILD's chief financial officer, noted that their outreach to MrBeast was a 'Hail Mary' that paid off, highlighting the organization's commitment to selfless service and leadership. Since its inception, BUILD has mobilized over 20,000 student volunteers, impacting more than 200,000 people across 24 countries. The collaboration with MrBeast is expected to amplify BUILD's visibility and inspire other students to engage in philanthropic efforts, demonstrating that impactful change can come from dedicated college students.
