This decision faced opposition from academics who raised concerns about the potential academic implications and criticized the abrupt end to discussions on the matter. Monami Sinha, an elected AC member, noted that the meeting was adjourned when dissent was expressed, leaving many unclear about the final decisions. Despite the dissent, DU registrar Vikas Gupta confirmed that the SWAYAM and MOOC proposal was passed and would be forwarded to the Executive Council for approval.
