Scheduled to hit theaters on Friday, the film features a cast that includes Duplass, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Renate Reinsve. It is based on Parsons' YouTube series that began in 2022, exploring an infinite maze of rooms. Critics have questioned whether Parsons was the primary director, given the involvement of established filmmakers like James Wan and Shawn Levy in the production team. In response to these claims, Duplass stated, 'When I was there, Kane was 100% in control. More so than many directors 3x his age.' The film's narrative focuses on lonely characters and was filmed in a specially constructed 30,000 square foot set of backrooms. Parsons aims to use the film to delve deeper into the lives of individuals experiencing isolation.
