The Government Schools Teachers' Association (GSTA) has formally requested Delhi's education minister, Ashish Sood, to withdraw show-cause notices issued to teachers following a decline in the CBSE Class 12 Board pass percentage. The GSTA attributes this drop to the newly implemented On Screen Marking (OSM) system, which they argue was introduced without sufficient preparation and practical assessment. In a letter to the minister, the association highlighted various technical issues faced during the evaluation process, such as blurred scanned answer sheets and incorrect uploads, which led evaluators to exercise excessive caution in marking. This resulted in many students receiving lower marks than expected, prompting complaints from parents and students. The GSTA emphasized that teachers should not be solely blamed for the results, as they actively engage in monitoring student performance through various support methods. The association is advocating for a supportive environment for teachers and has called for all notices regarding the Class 12 results to be declared null and void.
