Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan conducted a review of the Char Dham Yatra arrangements, focusing on ensuring a seamless experience for pilgrims visiting the four sacred shrines. He emphasized the importance of coordination between district administrations and stakeholders, such as the Badri-Kedar Temple Committee (BKTC), to facilitate smooth darshan. Bardhan noted that if the number of pilgrims increases, the system of night-time darshan could be reinstated to manage crowds effectively.

In preparation for the upcoming monsoon season, Bardhan instructed district administrations to activate holding areas in lower-altitude locations and to prepare evacuation plans due to potential heavy rainfall and landslides. He also highlighted the necessity of maintaining adequate stocks of essential supplies in these areas.

Health advisories were a key focus, with Bardhan stressing the need for health screenings during the registration process. He advised that elderly pilgrims, families with young children, and individuals with health issues should reconsider undertaking the pilgrimage. The Char Dham Yatra, a significant religious event in India, officially began with rituals at various shrines, including the Kedarnath Temple.
