The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) announced the Class 10 examination results for March 2026, revealing that girls dominated the top positions. Harleen Sharma from Saraswati Senior Secondary School in Jaito, Faridkot, emerged as the state topper with an impressive score of 646 out of 650, translating to 99.38%. Following her, Manimahesh Sharma from Government Senior Secondary School in Rupnagar and Riya Rani from Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School in Hoshiarpur secured second and third places, both scoring 645 marks (99.23%). The PSEB chairman clarified that Manimahesh was awarded the second rank due to being younger than Riya. The overall pass percentage for the examination was 94.52%, with 2,54,744 students passing out of 2,69,505 who appeared, marking a slight decrease from the previous year's 95.61%. Notably, girls excelled with a pass percentage of 95.96%, compared to 93.23% for boys. Rural schools outperformed urban centers, achieving a success rate of 95.35% against 92.98%. Amritsar district led with the highest pass percentage at 98.41%, while Ludhiana had the lowest at 89.2%. The board attributed the successful results to effective mentoring and regular assessments, prompting celebrations in schools across the state.
