The Delhi traffic police has launched a special enforcement drive to address unauthorized parking on Baba Kharak Singh Marg, located outside the Hanuman temple in Connaught Place, New Delhi. On the first day of the initiative, which took place on a Tuesday, 205 vehicles were issued fines (challans) for illegal parking, and 18 vehicles were towed away. This drive aims to alleviate traffic congestion caused by the influx of devotees visiting the temple, particularly on weekends and Tuesdays when foot traffic is high. The initiative is a collaborative effort between the Delhi traffic police and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). Motorists were informed about nearby authorized parking options, including NDMC’s multi-level parking adjacent to the Connaught Place police station and the parking area opposite the Hanuman temple. The police indicated that similar enforcement drives will be conducted in other busy areas of Lutyens' Delhi to promote better parking discipline and ensure smooth traffic flow.
