On Thursday, parts of Haryana, India, received light rain and hail, providing much-needed relief from the oppressive heat. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Karnal recorded 6 mm of rain, following 9 mm on Wednesday. Other areas like Yamunanagar and Ambala also saw rainfall, with maximum temperatures dropping below 40°C in most regions. Yamunanagar reported the lowest temperature at 34.5°C, while Rohtak remained slightly warmer at 40.8°C. Madan Khichar, head of agricultural meteorology at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University in Hisar, indicated that more rainfall is expected in the coming days due to an approaching Western Disturbance. This weather pattern is likely to bring partly cloudy skies and intermittent winds from May 3 to May 5, with potential for isolated drizzle or light rainfall, along with thunderstorms. While day temperatures are expected to remain stable, night temperatures may see a slight increase.
