Trisha Krishnan, a prominent actress and rumored girlfriend of Thalapathy Vijay, may join his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), to contest the by-elections in Tiruchirappalli East, Tamil Nadu. This comes as Vijay, who has recently entered politics, must resign from one of his two assembly seats within 14 days due to legal requirements. Reports indicate that Vijay is likely to keep the Perambur seat, where he won by a significant margin, making it more strategic for his political ambitions. Meanwhile, TVK has emerged as the largest party in the Tamil Nadu Assembly with 108 seats, although it falls short of the 118-seat majority needed to form a government. Discussions are underway regarding potential alliances with other parties, including the DMK and AIADMK, to secure the necessary support. Vijay has also reached out to the state governor, Rajendra Arlekar, to seek an invitation to form the government, with speculation that he may take the oath as Chief Minister on May 7.
