Currently, over 13,000 private schools operate in Tamil Nadu, and they are now strictly prohibited from collecting any hidden admission fees. The enforcement of this regulation is supported by the Tamil Nadu Schools (Regulation of Collection of Fee) Amendment Act, which establishes a committee of officials and education experts responsible for determining standard fees. Parents who encounter schools imposing exorbitant fees are encouraged to file complaints with the appropriate authorities to ensure compliance and protect their rights.
