Ashok Parashar, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA representing Ludhiana, Punjab, has publicly denied allegations of accepting bribes for recruitment within the Ludhiana municipal corporation. He described the accusations as 'absurd, baseless, and completely false' during a press conference held in Ludhiana. The allegations were made by his former personal assistant, Nikhil Sabharwal, during a press conference in Chandigarh, which was attended by senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia. Parashar accused opposition parties of attempting to damage his reputation and escalated the situation by challenging Majithia to resolve the issue publicly at the Golden Temple in Amritsar. He invited Majithia to bring documents related to their properties for investigation by the Panj Pyare, stating that if he is found guilty, he would donate all his properties. Parashar also produced bank statements to counter the financial figures presented by his opponents, which he claimed were fabricated. He announced plans to initiate legal proceedings against Majithia for defamation, asserting that he is currently seeking legal advice on the matter.
