Target has recently opened six new stores in various locations across the United States, including Buckeye and Casa Grande in Arizona, University City in Missouri, Myrtle Grove and Selma in North Carolina, and Jersey City in New Jersey. This expansion is part of Target's broader strategy to add 30 new locations by the end of the year, contributing to its goal of over 300 new stores by 2035. Notably, five of the six new stores exceed Target's standard 125,000-square-foot format, with the St. Louis location reaching approximately 149,000 square feet. This larger layout allows for an expanded product selection and improved grocery areas, enhancing online order fulfillment and same-day pickup services. Texas will see the most growth with six new stores, followed by Florida with five and Utah with four. Additionally, Target is investing $5 billion in capital to remodel existing locations and upgrade technology, aiming to better connect in-store shopping with digital services. This includes larger grocery areas and improved layouts to enhance customer experience across all 2,000 stores.
