On April 26, a Swiss International Air Lines flight LX147 from New Delhi to Zurich was forced to abort takeoff shortly after 1:00 AM local time due to an engine issue. The aircraft, an Airbus A330, was carrying 232 passengers, including four infants. Smoke was reported from the port side of one of the landing gears, prompting the flight crew to reject the takeoff. Following the aborted takeoff, all passengers and crew evacuated the aircraft using emergency slides, with stairs provided for those unable to use the slides. Six passengers are currently undergoing medical evaluation, although no serious injuries have been reported. The airline is coordinating with Swiss technical specialists who will travel to New Delhi to inspect the aircraft and determine the next steps. Additionally, the airline is working to arrange alternative travel solutions for all affected passengers.
