President Donald Trump declared the renovation of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C., as complete, following weeks of work that included refilling the pool with clean water. The renovations, which cost approximately $6.9 million, were initiated after Trump directed Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum to enhance the pool's appearance by resurfacing it in a color referred to as 'American flag blue'. Trump praised the efforts of the renovation team, highlighting the restoration of this historic site originally opened in 1922. In addition to the pool renovations, the administration is undertaking other projects aimed at revitalizing Washington landmarks, such as the construction of a ballroom in the White House and a proposed triumphal arch. Burgum emphasized that the new promenade will allow visitors to walk from the Lincoln Memorial to the Potomac River, which is only about 100 yards away, improving accessibility to this significant landmark. Trump also noted that during the renovation, ten dumpsters of debris were removed from the pool, underscoring the extent of the restoration efforts.
