Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, visited the construction site of the Dubai Metro Blue Line, which is a key part of the emirate's infrastructure development. The Blue Line will stretch 30 kilometers, with 14 stations, half of which will be underground, and is designed to accommodate around one million passengers. Upon its completion, the line is expected to reduce traffic congestion in Dubai by 20%. The project is backed by a workforce of approximately 10,000 employees and engineers, aiming for a launch date of September 9, 2029. The total budget for the Blue Line is Dh20 billion (around $5.4 billion USD), and it is part of a larger transport expansion plan that includes an additional Dh34 billion investment for the Dubai Metro Gold Line. Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that these projects are essential for reshaping Dubai’s future and maintaining its status as a global leader in innovation and urban development.
