Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the state will implement a farm loan waiver before June 30, 2023. In response to Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange, who is set to begin an indefinite hunger strike on May 30, Fadnavis stated that the government has consistently supported the Maratha community through various initiatives, including education scholarships and competitive exam preparations. He clarified that there is no significant backlog in issuing Kunbi caste certificates, which are processed according to established rules and Supreme Court directives. Additionally, during the second edition of the International Agri Hackathon, Fadnavis announced that four selected products will be developed into commercial ventures, and the event will be renamed the Maharashtra Agri Hackathon next year, with awards named after the late Ajit Pawar. Fadnavis also called on party workers to adhere to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's austerity appeal by limiting the use of personal vehicles during official convoys.
