On May 1, 2023, President Droupadi Murmu, who also serves as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, visited the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) headquarters in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India. Upon arrival, she was welcomed by Kavinder Gupta, the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, and Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of ARTRAC. During her visit, the President was briefed on ARTRAC's evolution and its significant role in providing quality training to enhance the operational efficiency of the Indian Army. Key initiatives highlighted included advancements in drone training, the integration of niche technologies, and the introduction of 'Red Teaming' concepts. President Murmu acknowledged ARTRAC's comprehensive responsibilities in designing warfare concepts and fostering international military collaborations. She urged ARTRAC to maintain its commitment to enhancing the Indian Army's operational preparedness and commended the efforts of all personnel involved.
