The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has cancelled the examinations for the assistant education development officer (AEDO) and assistant public sanitation and waste management officer (APSWMO) due to allegations of malpractice, impacting about 1.1 million aspirants. The decision follows reports of attempts to cheat using Bluetooth devices at some examination centers. Although the BPSC found no concrete evidence of a question paper leak, the integrity of the examination process was taken seriously. The AEDO exam was conducted in three phases from April 14 to April 21, while the APSWMO exam took place on April 23. During the APSWMO exam, a biometric staff member and a candidate were arrested for possession of answer chits. A total of 39 individuals, including 32 candidates, have been arrested in connection with cheating allegations, and 12 FIRs have been registered across seven districts. The BPSC has also blacklisted the private agency responsible for biometric attendance due to their failure to ensure exam integrity.
