A significant update has emerged regarding MJF's status in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) following his injury during a match on Dynamite. Last Wednesday, MJF defended his AEW World Championship against Rush in a no-countout match that ended with MJF locking in a hammerlock crossface, causing Rush to pass out. However, MJF sustained a hyperextended knee during the bout, reportedly due to a knee strike from Rush. Despite this setback, wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer confirmed that MJF remains scheduled to compete at AEW Forbidden Door 2026 later this month. In a recent interview, MJF announced that he would be stepping back from American Independent wrestling for an extended period to concentrate on AEW. He expressed disappointment over a recent loss to Bobby Orlando at Beyond Wrestling's canceled event, stating he cannot afford to lose focus.
