The Madhya Pradesh High Court recently ruled that the Bhojshala-Kamal Maula Mosque complex in Dhar is a temple dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, leading to significant controversy. AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi reacted strongly, drawing parallels to the Babri Masjid case and expressing hope that the Supreme Court would overturn the ruling. The court's decision not only declared the site's religious character as Hindu but also barred Muslims from offering namaz there. The bench, comprising Justice Vijay Kumar Shukla and Justice Alok Awasthi, noted that Hindu worship at the site had never ceased and linked it historically to Raja Bhoj of the Paramara dynasty. Furthermore, the court suggested that the Muslim community could approach the state government for land allocation to build a mosque nearby. The dispute over Bhojshala has been ongoing for decades, with Hindus asserting it as an ancient temple while Muslims claim it as a mosque. A previous arrangement allowed limited worship rights for both communities, which Hindu petitioners later challenged.
