The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is set to launch the E-PRAAPTI portal, designed to assist members in accessing and reactivating dormant provident fund accounts without needing employer support. Announced by Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, this Aadhaar-based platform will initially operate on a member ID system, enabling users to retrieve accounts digitally. Future phases will expand its capabilities to help users who may not remember their member IDs. This initiative reflects EPFO's ongoing efforts to digitize services, as evidenced by a record 83.1 million claim settlements in FY26, up from 60.1 million in FY25. The majority of claims, especially advance withdrawals, are now processed through automated systems within three days, improving efficiency. With 71.11% of advance claims processed automatically, the government anticipates that E-PRAAPTI will unlock many inactive accounts and further enhance transparency in the system.
