India is experiencing a severe heatwave, with 95 out of 100 of the world's hottest cities located in the country. In response, various state governments are implementing changes to school schedules to protect students. In Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has mandated that schools ring a bell every 45 to 60 minutes to remind students to drink water and has suspended outdoor activities between 11 am and 4 pm. Schools in Delhi-NCR, including Noida and Gurugram, are also adjusting their timings. Rajasthan has revised school hours for classes up to Class 8 to operate from 7:30 am to 11:30 am, while Jharkhand has set classes from 7 am to 12 pm.
