Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has reached out to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for assistance in revamping the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) payment gateway system. This move comes after numerous complaints from students and parents regarding failed transactions and difficulties accessing the CBSE post-result services portal during the verification and re-evaluation process. To address these issues, four public sector banks—State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, and Indian Bank—will collaborate with CBSE to enhance its payment infrastructure. The banks will help establish robust payment protocols to ensure timely transactions and facilitate automatic refunds for any excess payments. Additionally, teams from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) in Madras and Kanpur will investigate technical problems reported since the re-evaluation services were launched, focusing on portal stability and server performance. Pradhan has stressed the importance of prioritizing student interests and implementing necessary improvements swiftly to create a transparent and efficient system for users.
