To bolster the security of its power distribution infrastructure, the Haryana government is establishing a State Industrial Security Force (SISF) alongside a State Industrial Security Academy. The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) has taken the lead by issuing a final reminder to chief engineers and superintending engineers, urging them to submit proposals for security personnel requirements. This initiative is particularly focused on enhancing security at sensitive locations such as 33 KV substations and various offices in districts including Panchkula, Rohtak, Sonipat, and Jhajjar. The proposed SISF will function similarly to existing industrial security forces, aiming to safeguard critical infrastructure and public utilities. The personnel will be tasked with guarding substations, controlling unauthorized access, and responding to emergencies. Officials anticipate that this dedicated security force will significantly reduce incidents of theft, vandalism, and other security threats at power facilities.
