Magadh University (MU) in Bodh Gaya has successfully operationalized 17 of the 40 modules of the Samarth portal, designed to enhance academic, administrative, and financial functions while promoting a paperless governance approach. According to MU registrar Binod Kumar Mangalam, the Samarth portal is a priority for the university, and several essential modules related to admissions, examinations, degree issuance, personnel management, and leave administration are now functional. Despite initial challenges, Mangalam noted that a dedicated team is working to improve the portal's functionality. The remaining 23 modules are expected to be operational soon. For this academic year, a private agency will handle undergraduate admissions, with all applicant data remaining with them until the process concludes. Afterward, this data will be transferred to the Samarth portal for further activities, including admit card generation and results publication. Additionally, MU plans to implement the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR), which will provide students with a lifelong digital academic identity. So far, 4.5 lakh degrees and certificates have been uploaded to DigiLocker, with more documents to follow.
