Banerjee dismissed the credibility of exit polls, claiming they are often inaccurate and serve to influence market perceptions. Concerns were raised regarding potential counting malpractice and electronic voting machine (EVM) tampering, with Banerjee highlighting past incidents of power outages during counting. Abhishek Banerjee also criticized the Election Commission for allegedly favoring the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and announced plans for legal action against observers accused of unconstitutional behavior. The assembly elections were held in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with counting scheduled for May 4.
