Harpole claims that Owens fabricated a narrative suggesting he conspired with military officials to orchestrate the assassination. He is seeking $75,000 in damages, stating that her claims have severely damaged his reputation and led to online harassment. Owens, who previously worked with Kirk's organization Turning Point USA, responded to the lawsuit in a podcast, asserting that Harpole did not attempt to resolve the issue before filing suit and that her statements about him are merely subjective opinions.
