The Delhi Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation (DTIDC) plans to create a multi-cuisine food court at the Kashmere Gate Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) to enhance commuter amenities. This initiative responds to the lack of designated seating for passengers waiting for buses at ISBTs across Delhi. The food court will occupy empty commercial space within the terminal and is expected to feature various food options, including Indian and international cuisines, along with beverages. Seating for at least 50 people will be provided, addressing a significant gap in passenger facilities. DTIDC officials stated that the project aims to improve commuter convenience while generating non-fare revenue through better utilization of available infrastructure. The current stage involves an expression of interest (EOI) to gauge market interest and gather feedback on the proposed commercial structure, which will inform the subsequent tender process.
