The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has made two additional arrests in the ongoing NEET UG paper leak case, bringing the total number of arrests to 13. The latest individuals arrested include Manoj Shirure, a doctor based in Latur, and Tejas Harshadkumar Shah, a physics teacher at the Dr Abhang Prabhu Medical Academy in Pune. Shirure is accused of facilitating three students, including the son of Shivraj Motegaonkar, founder of Renukai Career Centre (RCC), in obtaining leaked chemistry questions from NEET paper setter P V Kulkarni. Motegaonkar was previously arrested in connection with the case. Shah allegedly received leaked physics questions for the NEET UG 2026 from another arrested individual, Manisha Havaldar. The CBI is actively investigating the conspiracy, having conducted searches at 49 locations and seized various incriminating materials such as documents, laptops, and mobile phones. Following the allegations, the National Testing Agency (NTA) canceled the NEET UG exam that took place on May 3, with a re-examination planned for June 21, 2023.
